Kembrel is my new favorite site! Last night I was able to get two pairs of American Apparel leggings for under $20.00 dollars! Right now they are offering a $10 credit if you invite friends and $5 credit if a friend invites you! So I was able to use both of my credits at once, how wonderful is that! I'm so excited, the very cute comfy company C&C California is going to be on HauteLook tomorrow! I love their stuff because it is stylish yet comfortable. Their adorable leggings and Tees are great to run errands in, while also wonderful for relaxing around the house or doing Yoga! I recently purchased this top when they had their online warehouse sale. I can't wait to see what I can scoop up tomorrow. CSN stores, what a wonderful site!

I'm so excited! The wonderful CSN stores have asked me to do another product review! I love CSN stores because they have so many items to choose from; whether it is wall art and decor or cute bake-ware they have EVERYTHING! Now, I just have to decide what to review! I will keep you all posted as to what I choose. I'm thinking something travel related because Hubby and I are taking a mini vacation to a spa in late March! I know it is a ways away, but I like to plan ahead...

I have loved these since I saw these on Oprah's favorite things! Since Hubby was oh so kind and bought me the gold Revas for me for Christmas, I thought them to be a somewhat, "frivolous" purchase. When I received an e-mail telling me that Tory Burch was having a Winter sale and saw that these lovelies were a part of that sale, I had to have them! They will be arriving on Monday and I couldn't be more excited :) I love how versatile these shoes are and I'm excited to have these to add to my shoe collection! Kate Spade, Hello DOLLY!

An early birthday gift is on it's way to my home right now! I have been wanting a tiny crossbody purse for a while now. Not only are they very cute but oh so practical! I think it would be a great purse to have while traveling or simply out for the day shopping. Though I love the room my larger totes give me, they are rather cumbersome and at times heavy! It would be nice throw a simple little purse on and go! Even though my birthday is in February, Hubby told me to order this little beauty for myself last night! Tiffany and Co. ooohhh lala!

I'm a big fan of the little blue box as many girls are... I'm especially a fan when the little red ribbon adorns the little blue box at Christmas time! Ugh, so lovely! What I'm most excited about this season at Tiffanys is the additions to their holiday selection of charms! Now among the blue and striped candy cane, Tiffany gift box, and snowman there are mittens, mints and even gingerbread-men! You all have to take a look because this stuff is too cute! How nice would it be to receive one if these under the tree this year! I also love their open clasp charm bracelet because you can change your charms around at anytime. It is especially nice this time of year because your regular charm bracelet can become one just for Christmas!
Sadly, the adorable gingerbread man is not on their website yet, hopefully soon! Tiffany's has also added many other amazing charms to their collection on-top of their Holiday ones, take a peek :)

Seriously?!?

Hello all! Can you believe that is it 44 days until Christmas (via the countdown on ebay)?!? Wow, has time flown, wasn't it just Summer? Last night in preparation for the quickly approaching holiday I ventured out to Hobby Lobby. I had so much fun and since Hubby had a dinner for work I was all by myself roaming isle after isle of Christmas fun! The real reason for this trip was to pick out a color scheme and ornaments for our second tree. Since we now live in a house and have much more space than ever before (and lots of pleading to Hubby) we will now have a tree in our den (fake) and a tree in out living room which we are going to trek out and cut down ourselves at a tree farm! Though Hubby was at first very opposed to this idea, too much time and too messy he said, I won out and were are going to go the first weekend in December! This left me with the dilemma of decorating two trees! Since our first is a hodge-podge of ornaments that we have slowly collected (some are from when we were kids) I didn't know what to do. After wandering around for about a half an hour I decided on greens and browns with gold as an accent. I figured this color scheme would fit our very traditional jewel-tone home. I also picked up some cute little Christmas cupcake wrappers and some other crafty things as well! I think we may go back this weekend because A. Hubby wants to go to Menard's which is right next door and B. because I want to go back and wander through the Christmas wonderland once more and pick up some garland and a tree topper! I'm wondering, what do you all put on top of your tree(s)? Growing up we put a tiny Santa hat and now on our one tree we have a tiny decorative mitten. I want to do something original on the second too? Or maybe just a star, I'm so indecisive! Also, if any of you have made your own what did you make and how, I'm very curious?!? Thanks!

I'm hoping it will look something like this! But with green ornaments mixed in with the gold and brown! I also bought green ribbon with a gold pattern on it instead of the gold ribbon seen here :)

CSN stores! Fast as can be!

I will be doing a review of this bench from CSN stores! I actually received it in the mail today! I will be posting my review and pictures as soon as my husband builds it tonight!!! I'm putting this in an area we have between the kitchen and the den, right below where we hang our coats. I thought this would be a nice place to sit and put on shoes/boots. I'm also planning on putting some baskets on the bench or on shelves above it with gloves, hats, etc in the winter! My inspiration came from this months Pottery Barn catalog where there is a beautiful bench with a plaid coat hanging above it in an adorably cozy mudroom :) So far I'm very impressed with this company and can't believe how fast I received this item, I ordered it on the 8th and received it early this afternoon :) I suspect if not for the holiday, it would have arrived yesterday too. What a wonderfully fast company this is! I will keep you all informed on how this piece looks soon!

Hello everyone! I have some very exciting news! CSN recently contacted me asking if I would do a product review, and of course I jumped at the opportunity! I had heard about the company from some other bloggers who have also participated in reviews but boy was I blown away upon visiting their site! If you haven't checked out their site then you must do so, it is beyond fabulous! They have over 200 online stores (really I'm not kidding) and you can get anything from chic bar stools to adorable doormats! There is a ton of stuff I would love to get to decorate our new home! Back again, in our new home!

I have been a very absentee blogger lately! Hubby and I are finally (and I mean finally) ALL moved in! Though everything is here, doesn't necessarily mean it is all nice and organized yet, that is the nexk project to tackle! Nor, does it mean it is all decorated yet either, that has been a slow process as well... Moving from a two bedroom apartment into a three bedroom home means more furniture, more rugs, more pieces to fill the empty walls etc... You get the picture! Though it has been a very large pain in the you know what to move once AGAIN I have had fun rearranging, redecorating and of course shopping for our new home :) Once everything is up and running fully I will be sure to post pictures of our new place! It is nice to have the extra room and a yard for the dogs to run around and play in. Not only is the space nice bur dorky old me has had a blast decorating the outside of our house for Halloween and boy am I excited for Christmas! Now I have my work cut out for me as our kitchen looks like a landfill at the moment and our hallways are hard to maneuver through... In the end we love the new suburb we are living in, I found a job super fast and we have more space, ahhh. Hopefully by Christmas we will be fully up and running? Have a wonderful evening everyone!

To Gourd or not to Gourd that is the ?

So I love gourd lamps! I think they are gorgeous and they add such a juxtaposition to a traditional home. Today, while at Marshalls, yet again I found two lovely lamps! They were 15.00 each! They are a wonderful Tiffany blue with large cream drum shades. They actually look exactly like this lamp just different colors. I plan on putting them next to our chocolate brown couch (with cream pillows and zebra print throw) on cream table clothed tables with glass tops.
Hubby is not too fond of the lamps...hey he isn't decorating is he?! Again, I'm asking for all of your wonderful opinions! Do you all think this constitutes as a gourd lamp? Do you think it might be too "wild & crazy," for my traditionally decorated home! Thanks everyone :)

Decorating and Moving AGAIN oh my...

So Hubby and I are moving AGAIN! Hopefully 3rd time is the charm?!? His sales territory has changed, nothing major but it has changed. We are moving to the northern suburbs vs. the western where we are now. We went to look at a house to rent yesterday and it is fabulous! I just sent an e-mail to the owner saying that we would love to rent his home! Of course this means decorating once again :) Since we will have a TON more space that means more to decorate as well :) I was out and about today looking for bathroom stuff! There are amazing cast-iron, claw-foot tubs in both the bathrooms so I needed to get another (actually two) shower curtain, towels etc... I decided to keep the dowstairs bathroom simple, white and silver. It is very small so I figured keeping it neutral would keep it from looking too claustrophobic. I decided on this shower curtain from Target (it was on sale too)!
I also picked up some beaded shower curtain rings and some white Lacoste hand-towels at the glorious Homegoods! I was wondering do you all think that may look too, "name-brandy" in the bathroom? The little alligators are right there in your face and I don't want to look too, I don't know?!
I would love to hear your opinions! Do any of you own these towels, how well do they wash etc...? I'm also looking for a pretty white bathroom rug and bath mat. I'm also not sure if I should throw in a touch of color? A pale pink or retro-looking aqua? Or maybe even black? Choices, choices, choices! I love the Shabby Chic line at target, so cute! I only wish it was a bit bigger...I feel like it has been in the past. Oh well, I guess I will have to just continue shopping :)

Here We Go Again!

This weekend I went thorough my closet and found some more wonderful pieces that deserve nice homes :) I wish I could keep it all but again, not enough room (especially with fall right around the corner)!

The second item is an adorable tunic style top, size small! I guess it could be a dress on someone a bit shorter than I am (I'm about 5"3-5"4). This is a very nice top, it ties at the neck and has nice little buttons on the sleeves. Sleepy Puppies

My poor dogs Stella & Maddie do not have dog beds! At one point in time Stella had a very nice and very cute I may add, leopard bed. When we returned from Florida in January we were greeted with a bag full of leopard remnants by the kennel... I learned my lesson, never will I bring their beds to the kennel! I have been looking around for beds for the two gals for a while now! Honestly, I lot of them look cheap and uncomfortable. If they are going to be around our home, I would really like them to be cute and functional! I would prefer not to spend a ton of money on their beds (hopefully we will not have another incident like before) but they are so important to us, they deserve nice beds too! I have pretty much decided on these from Frontgate.

Has anyone ordered from them before? I have never purchased anything from this company but these beds look amazing. Heck, I would take a nap in one! I LOVE that each one comes with a cute little pillow that has the dog's name embroidered on it! I'm leaning towards the Olive (for Stella) & Hazlenut (for Maddie) (each of the pillow would be the opposite to coordinate)...

Hubby got me these puppies as a pseudo anniversary present/I know you want these sooo much gift! I have never been more in love with a pair of sunglasses, silly huh? Happy 4th & Lavaliers

I stumbled onto this great website for Greek gear Greek Nation a little while ago while looking for a lavalier (of hubby's fraternity) to replace the one that I lost :( I know many of you are familiar with the greek world but many are not, so I will briefly explain the significance of this tiny item! So... hubby "lavaliered" me when we were in school together. Meaning he gave me a little charm (lavalier) with his fraternities letters on it and it is super meaningful and important (basically putting me at the same "level" as his fraternity) Somehow, even though I NEVER lose things I lost it! A few years ago I went out to the Cheesecake factory with my mom for lunch and when I got home, the lovely gold charm that had been hanging from my neck was gone. So I'm shopping for a new one and plan on ordering one from Greek Nation. Hubby recently got me an amazing new charm bracelet and I want to add it to it. Though it is not the "original" one, it will still mean a lot to have in on my bracelet. I just wanted to let you all know since I know many of you may be going back to school shortly and need more greek gear. I know I always liked to get some new stuff with my letters before each year :) Hope everyone is having a fabulous 4TH!

What does your room look like:
I really tried to keep out room "man friendly" and not too feminine. If it were my choice I would have pink frilly bedding and girly sorst of things everywhere. But, I do share a room with my husband so I had to control myself. So...Our bedding is a khaki/tan microfiber material with a brown striped bed skirt/ shams and brown curtains. We also have touch of animal print for pattern and cream accents to tone down the brown! Though it sounds boring and somewhat manly, it is actual very simple and calming. Just what I want to surround myself around when going to sleep :)

If you could have dinner with any two people, dead or alive, who would they be?

I would have to agree with pink champagne on this one, pure elegance...
and my grandmothers. One passed away before I was born and the other when I was two. I would love to talk with them, I think it would be an amazing experience!

Shoes for SALE

Because I had such success with my last item that I put up for sale (thanks Pink Champagne) I wanted to offer you all another item! These cute flip flops from the glorious, J. Crew!

These are a size 8 but fit me very well and I'm a stead fast 7.5 (I think their flip-flops only come in whole sizes). They have only been worn a handful of times (2-3) and are super cute for summer! Sadly, I just need to make room in my tiny apartment sized closet :(. Sorry to say it girls but Fall is going to be here before we know it and my sweaters (that my parents have so graciously stowed away for me in their home) will have to come back out again and that means GOODBYE any space I have ANYWHERE! Wonderful Movie!

The sequel to Father of the Bride! If you love the 90's versions of Father of the Bride I & II you must see the originals. They are wonderful :) Though I love the re-makes, I'm a bit partial to the originals... Elizabeth Taylor is just gorgeous in the film and Spencer Tracy is hilarious. I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing evening!

Anniversary Weekend!

I'm so excited to celebrate our first anniversary this weekend, how time flies! It feels like just yesterday we were getting married and now, an entire year has passed. To celebrate, hubby and I are going to the Cape Cod room at the Drake Hotel for dinner Saturday night.

Then we are going to drink this and eat a little replica of our wedding cake that the baker was so kind enough to give us on our first anniversary!

To top it all off, on Sunday, we are going to have a fabulous brunch at the Deer Path Inn, (in the room where we held our reception)!

New Obsession...

I have a somewhat new obessseion to share with you all...It is the tv show, MAD MEN! Though I may be a little late jumping on this bandwagon, I'm obsessed! I love the Drapers'! Yes their relationship seems a bit strained to say the least but the characters are fascinating. The story line is not the only thing that keeps me clicking to the next episode on the On demand screen, it is the clothes! Oh the early 60's! I sometimes wish that full skirted dresses, matching heals and jewelry were still all the rage. The women seem to be perfectly polished and poised all of the time. Though, for me that would be difficult to achieve on a daily basis, (hey my nail polish always seem to have chips in it not matter how many times a week I polish them) it would be nice if it were more "common place," once again. As strange as it seems I also wish that men still wore hats, how dapper! Due to this new obsession I am on the hunt for a sweater clip also known as a sweater guard. I think they are fabulously cute and hey if I'm the only one wearing them these days I simply don't care :)

My Closet Looks Lovely

I LOVE huggable hangers! They are amazing! I decided to go with the black (after a long debate between that and the ivory/cream color). I figured it was super neutral, classic and looks good with about anything in my closet! I purchased some of these hangers at Target and some others at The Container Store, which is fabulous! The benfit of getting some there is that you can find tons of coupon codes online and if you have a Discover card you get 5% back if you go through their site while shopping online. So all in all I received 20% back and another 5% on top of that. I also decided to pick-up my order at the store which saved me shipping costs :) Now my closet looks lovely! I still need to get a few more, but I will do that gradually since this has definitely been an investment rather than a small 20 dollar purchase. I figure I will have these for years to come and since clothes themselves are sooo expensive why not treat them well. I hope all of you try out these hangers, they have double my closet space and made it look amazing! I also picked up some of the clear shoe boxes from The Container Store too. Again, AMAZING I can see the shoes without having to get them down from my closet shelf, plus it makes everything looks so "professional. The best part is they are only around 1.50 apiece! So far it has been a productive weekend!

THE Huggable Hanger!

So, I have been coveting huggable hangers for a while now! I love how they instantly transform a closet! I currently have a massive amount of the plastic white hangers and I hate how my clothes are constantly slipping off and falling to the floor. My question for all of you lovely ladies out there is do they really work? Are they really worth the 1/per hanger price tag (unless on sale)? The four colors I like best are; ivory, black, grey and light pink. I like the neutral factor of the ivory and black (I'm really leaning towards black), but I wonder if the black will be too "harsh" looking? Please let me know if you use these hangers and if so what color is hanging in your closet :)

New Addition to the Family!

I'm so happy to announce that Hubby and I have a new addition to our family... Ms. Maddie! We adopted her earlier this week and she couldn't be any cuter! Though Stella seems less than thrilled that she now shares her home and attention with another dog... everything seems to be working out well :) Here are a few pictures of the little one!

How do you all feel about converse sneakers (the low version, chuck taylors). I never used to really care for them but now I think they are super cute! Thus, I ordered a grey pair today from finish line. I received free shipping and 10% while using my Discover card :) Honestly, what do you all think about them? I plan on wearing them with jeans and a simple white long/short sleeve tee for a cute casual look.... hmmm I guess I will see once I get them in the mail? Ok, once again it has been monnnnhs sicce I blogged! I know, I know, I'm such a bad blogger but I felt as though I should get back into the "swing of things." I will start of this post with some super cute things I picked up at old navy recently. One if which is workout apparel! Gasp! I know... I'm not usually one to throw on a pair of shoes and go to the gym but I decided to start running again. I visited my sister last weekend and since she is an avid workerouter, we went running. Though I felt as thought I was most likely going to pass out through the entire experience it felt good to run and I felt so accomplished afterwords! In hopes of running almost daily now I treated myself to two new pairs of running shorts, a cute hot pink sports bra and a running top! Not all of which was from Old Navy but Marshall's too (who has amazing prices on workout gear)! I also picked up the sweater too because it was on super sale and was very comfy!

Uggs, Scarves and Snuggies Too!

So hubby and I are currently driving back from our Alma Mater! We were down there this weekend visiting campus and my little sister :) We had bunches of fun, wishing we were both students again...Oh well! On Friday my sister headed out for a day of shopping fun! We both picked up a cute fleeces at Dick's and some amazinggg stuff on sale at Old Navy! All of their clearance items were 50% off! So we each got a pair of ruffled yoga pants, a t-shirt dress (the one I also have in navy), and some yoga capris!
After hitting the mall we headed over to target and out to lunch. If you all haven't been to Target in a while check it out! They have some of the cutest slippers, Ugg like boots and all sorts of comfy stuff :) If I didn't already own like 4 pairs...I would have definitely picked some up! It was a great weekend with wonderful fall weather! I was able to break out a cashmere scarf, uggs and my snuggie too! Oh how I love when it gets cold out! We have a couple of hours left in the car, but when we get home I'm going to put out a few more fall decorations I purchased this weekend and head to the grocery store since our fridge is completely empty... Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Pumpkin Spice Tea

I love coffee but sometimes a nice cup of tea just hits the spot! I found the most wonderful tea at the grocery the other day, Pumpkin Spice! It is a nice break from the heaviness of the Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes (even though I love them). I'm sitting here right now enjoying a cup in my Halloween pumpkin mug :) I can't believe September is almost over, boy this month has flown by... At least it is beginning to feel like fall :)

Tory Burch, ohhh lala!

Ok. So I have loved the revas by Tory Burch for a loong time now. I have finally decided to treat myself and order a pair! As of Friday, I'm employed! Well part-time at least, nannying for the most adorable family! I lived in my Jack Rogers also summer and need a pair that I will live in for the Fall (Uggs are always my casual go to shoe for the Winter). I have narrowed it down to the black leather with the gold emblem and the gold flat. I love all of them, but I want something that is very neutral. Though the black is basic and classic, I'm worried that it will not go with any of my navy or brown clothing. The gold is very neutral but a bit flashy and for my first pair, I'm not sure if the black would be a better choice? So, I'm asking for all of your lovely and wise opinions! I know many of you have these shoes and I would love if you could shed some light on why/what you chose! Also, are they comfy and do they run true to size? Thanks ladies! Subbing, Silver and a Solo Night

Last week I had a wonderful visit with my family! It was wonderful that the four of us were able to spend a week together, since we may not all be back together until the holidays :(. Moving my sister back down to school went well too. Hubby was down there on businesses so he was able to help us :). He is extremely handy, strong, etc... while my father us ummm not. The two of us visited his parents on Saturday, went to lunch with them and then came home! Oh, it was wonderful to walk into our apartment. I love our families but it is nice to have our own downtime too! Today I had a check-up at the doctor and on my way home I ran into Goodwill. I found some very nice stuff. I picked up a silver pitcher (that I am using as a vase), a silver candy dish, and a tier serving piece for deserts. I paid under 10.00 for all three pieces, how wonderful! I just love the look of silver, it dresses up any room and it is so classic it never looks out of place. With regards to work I have decided to substitute teach! I was talking to Hubby's mom who does it and she really enjoys it and told me it was not too hard to get my license (just paperwork). So I ran over and picked up all of the forms today. I think this will be something great to do for the time being, since graduation I have wished I received my degree in teaching. I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but I really want to be a teacher. Though I loved my major, a LOT, I wish I had double majored or something of that sort. I'm still researching the thrift store shop though, I guess subbing will be a away to get some much needed income coming in :) Well, Hubby is on another business trip so I guess it is a movie night for moi! I think I'm in the mood for Mona Lisa Smiles, just love it...

Jeans with an Elastic Band?

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a cool, relaxing weekend so far! I just wanted she share with you all the amazing jeans I found today. Well, my sister actually found and bought them and I had to run and get them a forever today! At first I was shocked, they looked like granny/mom jeans...They have an elastic waist band, but fit soooo well and are so comfy! The best part, they were 19.80! Love love love them :) So if you have a forever 21 near you, I would recommended checking them out. They will be fabulous for the fall with boots, since they are so tight around the calf. While there I also picked up a plaid button down and a fluttery short sleeved sweater. Hubby was down at Purdue today, selling some of his furniture...Didn't go so well :( They got kicked off campus because somone at Purdue didn't do all of the paper work and turn everything in. Sometimes I wonder if people actually work/try their best in life. Ughh if you feel like slacking off don't do it at another's expense! Oh well, everything happens for a reason :)

I have been unemployed for about two months now. The family I was sitting for had a summer sitter lined up before she met me. She briefly mentioned me coming back at the end of August to sit for her two boys again and since she works with Hubby she has asked him how my job search has been going. Well, in all honesty I don't know where to start?! I graduated a little over a year ago with a degree in Art History from a small liberal arts college. Though I love my school I feel like my degree left me in the lurch so to say? I have always been a very creative person and I don't think I could be in a profession that didn't utilize my creativity a bit. I just don't know where to begin. I have also thought about my own business briefly. Possible a small thrift type store in the downtown of our town. There are so many vacant shops there that it wouldn't be hard to rent out a space and maybe it would help with reviving it! I love older type things and would love to set my own hours etc... I just don't know! Well, on a different note Hubby's job is going well. He loves it but has been putting in 12 hour days very frequently... If anyone is interested in recyclable furniture (sounds weird but it is fabulous) check out FASconcepts.com Everything is fold-able and recyclable so if you want you can just pull it out of the closet when you need it. Macho Men

So, two weekends ago hubby and I bought the dresser that matches our bed and it was delivered last week. When hubby went to put on the feet, he noticed that there were no holes drilled! Of course, the next day I called and complained. The sales woman was very nice and said they would send out a replacement. Today, while walking our dog outside, the truck pulled up. I hurried inside to show them the "broken" dresser. They proceeded to tell me that nothing was wrong with the piece. The shipping block had to be removed (which the holes are under). They drilled off the block, put on the feet and voila, perfect dresser! I know this is a random post, it's just that hubby is extremely macho at times, claiming he can fix everything and anything. I think it is so funny how men act, their macho nature always wins out over common sense ;) Either way, I probably wouldn't have known to do that either (I didn't) and now we have a beautiful dresser that matches out cute bed!

It's Been a While...

A once again LONG over due post... Many things have come an gone since I last blogged! For one, I'm officially married :) Though it feels as though hubby and I have been married for many years, it is now official! Our wedding went very well except for some minor issues (the bow on the bottom tier of our cake broke off, my sister's initial up-do was less than becoming and our dj did not end up living up to our expectations). Besides that everything was beautiful and I wish I could do it all over again! Our honeymoon was just as amazing. We spent a couple of days in D.C. where we went from museum to museum (national gallery of art is FABULOUS)! We then made our way to the lovely town of Williamsburg, VA, a place I have always loved. Our room at the inn was super cozy and cute and the food was as always, amazing! We spent the week site seeing aroun the historic area, shopping and relazing. All in all we hade a wonderful time! Right now I'm playing housewife... something I could surely get used to! I have been decorating our apartment and getting everything in order. I have also been atempting to look for a job, in all honesty I have no idea what I would like to do?? I have been offered the chance to babysit for the two boys I was previously babysitting for once their summer sit goes back to teaching, but they were lets just say, a handful... On the bright side, it looks as if fall is just around the corner! I'm more than ready to put away my summer things, turn off the air and bust out my cute boots and warm cozy sweaters! I just love fall! The leaves, hot apple cider, sitting in front of the fire reading, it is all so perfect! As I was out and about, running errands today I stopped into Old Navy to see if there was anything worth while. Look what I found, a cute simple dress to wear with boots and a scarf in the coming month or so! I picked it up in this Navy color and it is sooo comftorable and at 15 a steal! I also took a look at their website and there is a pair of brown boots in carmel and some turtlenecks I may order this afternoon. Just a few basics to spruce up my fall wardrobe! So! The weekend was fantastic and my bridal shower went sooo well! My sister is amazing and put so much time and effort into this for me! One of my bridesmaids "abducted" me Saturday morning. We went and had coffee and did a bit of shopping before the party. When I got home I was amazed! My sister had everything in pink, brown and mint green with a French theme. There was french music playing in our dining room and the table was filled with wonderful food. She had the most beautiful bouquets of flowers set in french flower pails. She tied pink and cream ribbon to our chandelier and had made pink and brown damask table clothes herself (she is not the most crafty, so this was a huge surprise)! For the giveaway she pitted basil plants in little pots and had my hubby-to-be and my monogram stuck in on a little stick! Besides the fabulous decorations, I was able to see wonderful people too! I was lucky enough to receive tons of gifts that now look amazing in our home! Here are just some of the things...almost all of our everyday china, 6 sets of flatware, monogram towels, baskets galour (I love them), the Tiffany pitcher I wanted, and much more! I get nervous in large groups so it was a bit daunting at first, but in the end it was all so much fun! I will be sure to post some pictures as soon as my sister send me some. Aside from that I finialized all of my flowers this weekend too! Here they are... for my bridesmaids bouquets I will have them carry a small (half dozen) amount of almost hot pink roses, tied with a mint green ribbon. My bouquet will consist of cream roses and the little flowers (I always forget their name) that look somewhat like tuberose with pearl pins in the center and also wrapped in a mint green ribbon. The boys boutonnieres will match the bridesmaids and the future hubby's will match mine. Our center pieces will be placed on square frames with votives surrounding them and they will consist of hot pink roses, cream roses with pink tips, green hydrangea, and the little flowers with the pearls in the center. Then, around is square vase their will be a mint green bow! I also stopped downtonwn (Chicago)n my way home yesterday. My godfather owns a beyond fabulous shoes store, Battaglia Footwear, and he said he was going to give me a pair of wedding sheos for my second dress!!!! As you know I was going to wear flip flops, in his opinions, that didn't cut it. So I picked out some amazing shoes that he is dying for me right now! I also dropeed off a pair of Manolo's that I got for 86.00!!!! Yep that is correct, $86... He is dying them black for me to wear with a dress I'm bringing on my honeymoon sicne they are white satin as of right now (he is the only person I would trust to do this) If you live in Chicago definetly check out his store is is AMAZING and he has a sale room in back that is to die for! I may have to browse next Satruday when I pick up my shoes..... So, that was my weekend. Hope yours were just as fun, have a wonderful Monday!!! :)

Bridal shower outfit...

Hello again! I know my last post was very short, so let me fill you in on a couple of things... I can't remember if I told you all that I finally have a job! I'm nannying for two little boys, mon-fri. It is very tiring considering that I work from 7:15am-7:15pm some nights! The only other draw back is that as of June 12th, I will no longer have a job until the fall. That is if I decide to continue with this. I love being with kids all day its just that my commute her every morning is about 35 minutes. Since I have to be here by 7:15 (and sometimes earlier), it makes for a verrry long day! Other than that, my bridal shower is this Saturday (I know I mentioned this before) and I'm super excited! A lot of my friends from school will be attending and I haven't seen most of them since graduation :( I'm leaving right after work on Thursday to head up to my parent's house! Friday, I will be taking my car to get a routine little check up, finalizing the flowers with my mom and do a little shopping with my sister! Hopefully I can buy some more cute dresses for our honeymoon that is quickly approaching :) Then next Friday, the future hubby and I are driving back up to my parents so we can get our marriage liscense! While I'm still discussing wedding type things, I want to run my bridal shower outfit by all of you! Here it goes...Lilly pulitzer skirt, it is the first one I won on Ebay a couple months ago (very pastely), a white t-shirt type shirt with poufy sleaves (very feminine touch I think), pearls and white heals. I think this will be appropriate, plus it's comfy! I'm also trying to get soem books together for the honeymoon. We will be in the car a lot and hopefully by the pool as well! If anyone has any recomendations of some fabulous reads I would looove to hear them! Here is one of my all time favorite books... The NOTEBOOK! (it wouldn't let me put it below this sentance, sorry)!

Oh my how time goes by!

Ok. I would like to apologize for my SERIOUS lack of blogging! Wow, am I a slacker! To start from the beginning...We moved! I love our place and everything is coming along nicely! Future hubby has finally gotten around to hanging most of the mirrors, prints, etc... that I have asked him to! I also found a job! I am nannying for two adorable but extremely hyper boys. Sadly, their mother found a summer nanny before she met me, so as of June 9th I will no longer be employed :( I feel like everything may have worked out for the best though. Since we are getting married on the 27th of June, I will have plenty of down town to relax and get everything finalized! Also, my bridal shower is next Saturday!!! My sister (who is also my maid of honor) has put so much time into planning it and I couldn't be more excited :) Well, I'm going to get back to my movie, Father of the Bride lol. Wow, Im cool! No really, besides the fact that I'm getting married in a month it is an ammmzing movie and has been one of my favorites since I can remember! Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday night!

We Found a Place!

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days... but this weekend was busy busy busy! The future hubby and I embarked on the home search Friday afternoon. The agent that his mom put us in contact with was absolutely no help! He was a very sweet man but only showed us one house! Instead he simply drove us around, showing us different apartment buildings (even though we told he we were interested in houses). So, Saturday, we had to scramble a bit and went to apartment building after apartment building. We decided on a cute one right by future hubby's new office. It has two full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a loft, which I think we are going to make a den/reading area. What I am most excited about is the dishwasher! The house we live in right now does not have one and that has been a bit annoying. There is also a washer and dryer, the only thing I said I HAD to have :) Though all of this has been very stressful I'm looking forward to decorating a new place. The only annoying this is that the kitchen counter tops are a very dark red/burgundy... Since our kitchen here used to be red & black I'll just pull out all of that decorative stuff. I will be sad to see my pink kitchen aid put into the cabinet and my sage green toile/polka dot valances not hung :(. The next quest for me is to find a job! Hopefully, that ill occur sooner than later! Overall, I think the move will be good for us. It is also nice that out building has a pool that we will be able to use, just in time for Summer! I also sent out our wedding invitations yesterday! I know it is a bit early but I'm worried that people are going to take their time responding and so I wanted to safe-guard myself from having to call a week or two before! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Now if only the weather would turn around, then it will truly feel like Spring :)

Just Another Day

After selling a few things at Plato's closet today, I ran over to T.J. Max! They did not have a ton of Lilly not any J. crew shoes (as I have been hearing about). I did pick up a simple Lilly white polo halter, which I think will look cute with jeans and some of my Lilly skirts! I did see a ton of vineyard vines pieces! They had all sorts of shorts and capris (nothing in my size sadly). They also had a lot of polos. I don't own any of their polos, I was wondering, do they fit like Ralph Lauren's do? Also, do they keep their color and all of that good stuff? After running to T.J's I stopped at Red Lobster and got the future hubby some biscuits (he loves them)! I know they are not the best for him but I figured that dropping them off at his office would be a special treat, especially since he has been so stressed with the new job and move! He loved them of course and I returned home to more packing... We also got a quote from a moving company today, this is all really happening. I don't really think it will all be completely real to me until I see this house empty, then it will FULLY sink in. Another good thing that has come out of the move is that we are going to me parents for Easter (since we will be close looking at houses)!!!

Beyond Stressed!

I'm beyond stressed right now! So a I previously told everyone future hubby and I are moving... NEXT SATURDAY! We spent the weekend packing, running to target to get storage bins/tap and packing some more. Amongst the snow filled skies (it's April, come on now) I have been packing some more. Future hubby arranged for the movers while at work today so amongst juggling two jobs now (the old and new) he has been arranging for out entire lives to be moved as well. Good new! We found an adorable house via our agent that we are going to see this Saturday. I'm hoping this will be it! It looks perfect! Three bedrooms, 1.5 bath, a deck and a fenced in yard for our little baby, Stella! I hope it lives up to the pictures! If so, we will probably sign the lease right there on the spot! We are in such a time crunch right now that if it is cute and I feel, "our style" it will be a done deal! Sorry for ranting about this, I have been so stressed and needed to get this off of my chest. I will keep you all updated on out new home :) ALSO, thank you to Nautical by Nature and L. Whelan Designs for my adorable Lilly luggage tag! Spring Has Spring!

I snagged this little beauty last night on Ebay! Oh how I can't wait for warm weather! I'm getting tired of having to bundle up to just set foot outside. Hopefully I'll be able to wear this in no time :) Other than that...future hubby and I are moving! Future hubby was offered a wonderful job and gave his two weeks notice yesterday. He has been a bit stressed lately because of it all, which has then made me stressed as well. This weekend we plan on packing since his new boss wants him out there by the 19th. Oh jeez we have some work ahead of us! Next weekend we have to look for a house/apartment/townhouse to live in. It is all a lot of work but I am super excited to redecorate. As of right now we only have two bedrooms and one bath, we are hoping to extend that to three and two! Maybe..if I'm lucky we will also have walk in closets?! Or maybe, just maybe, the third bedroom could be a closet! In all actuality it will probably be an office for future hubby but a girl can hope! What I am most excited about is that we will be much closer to our families! With all of the wedding stuff coming up (bridal shower, marriage license, etc...) it will be nice to make the drive in about an hour and a half! All in all this is an excellent opportunity for the future hubby and of course I will support him! Hopefully, I will be able to find a job out there too!

The Rings Arrived

The monogram rings I ordered, arrived yesterday! They are lovely and were packaged so well! Each ring was wrapped in tissue paper, in an adorable tin and placed inside a pretty light pink organza bag! I ordered the rings Sunday and they arrived at my doorstep three days later! Bracelet Order, Yipee!

YES! I just received an 8 bracelet order!!! I'm going to customize bracelets for the future hubby's boses's fiance's bridesmaids and mothers (that was hard to say) to wear at their wedding. Bridesmaid Gifts?

I purchased the gifts for my bridesmaids a few months ago. I'm not sure if I should add in a few more goodies? As of right now each of their bags contains: A pearl necklace, bracelet and earrings (that they will also be wearing to the wedding), a crystal ring holder and Holly Golightly (from Breakfast at Tiffany's) style ear plugs and eye mask. I also purchased these for myself and think they are absolutely adorable! I also purchased a travel jewelry box for my maid of honor (who is my sister) and some very cute little note cards. I may also put the monogram ring in the jewelry box instead of giving it to her for her birthday, I think it could be a cute touch. Of course I'm going to include I card for each girl as well. Do these gifts seem substantial enough and befitting for bridesmaids? I'm not sure because I have never been a bridesmaid and have never been married before :)

Yesterday we received another wedding gift ! It is so wonderful when the UPS truck pulls up in front of the house! I feel like a little child at Christmas! I can't really believe we have been getting all of these gifts, since we haven't even sent out the invitations yet. But, that is what I'm going to do today, pick up our envelopes and begin to put everything together! We are not sending them out for a few more weeks but I want to get a head start on everything so this does not become a daunting task. Instead it will be fun, I'll put on some old 40's music (I know I'm kind of dorky) and make some tea!

Here is a sample of our Invitations! Our colors are pink & mint green with gold and black accents. Since I'm trying to keep eveything low-key, there is not too much that we are adding to the reception site that will be following our color scheme. Simply flowers, cocktail napkins, table numbers and table assigment cards. The bridesmaids are wearing black dresses and gold shoes!

On top of all that I am in the process of cleaning out my closet ughh. I have to admit, I am somewhat of a pack rat. I seem to get emotionally attached to things especially clothes. I think to myself oh I wore this to that or so and so gave this to me. You get the picture. I'm very proud of myself because thus far, I have packed up 4 bags of things to give away (I may even try to bring some things to Plato's Closet)!

I am absolutely in love with Anne Harwell's work! I was looking at another blogger's reference to her (I'm sorry I can't remember who) and I wanted to see it all for myself. Her work is absolutely stunning! I can't decide if I like her chair or room prints more! I showed some of her stuff to the future hubby last night and he seemed less than enthused. I think he thought it was too feminine. I may still order a few because, hey, who is decorating out home anways? My Shoes Have Arrived

The shoes arrived! My Jack Rogers arrived yesterday and I'm positively in love! A fellow blogger Lake Nokomis (Che Belle Cose) wanted to know what I thought, to let you know they are amazing! They are super comfy and fit very true to size. To me, they seem to be a bit narrow but that could also simply be my opinion. I think that any color you choose will look lovely and become a true staple in your shoe collection! All I know is that this will be the first of many Jack Rogers for me! I ordered the bone & white Jack Rogers a couple of days ago and I couldn't be more excited! I think they will be the perfect, "go with everything" kind of shoes! Since they are flats my fiance can't complain about me hobbling around in heals when we go out! What makes this purchase even more amazing is the I ordered them from shoes.com. The Cake & Dress(es)

Sorry I have been M.I.A.! I have had a lot to do since we returned from Chicago! While there my fiance and I met with our DJ and photographer, who were both so nice! It was the first time meeting them since my mom has been planning a lot for me up there. We also had out cake tasting, which was beyond amazing. We were able to try everything from lavender cake with lemon butter cream frosting to Chocolate cake with peanut butter butter cream frosting! In the end we chose three different flavors, one for each tier of the cake. The first tier will be yellow cake with a strawberry preserve filling, the second will be lemon cake with a white chocolate butter cream and the third will be carrot cake with an orange butter cream! Here is a picture of the design we chose! The only thing that will be a bit difference is that instead of ivory the frosting will be a mint green (one of our colors). My mom is dropping off one of out cocktail napkins as a reference. It will also be three tiers instead of four!
I just love the bows! It was basically an instantaneous decision and I'm surprised the fiance didn't think it was too girly :) Also, a few weeks ago I ordered a cake-topper along with the cocktail napkins. It is a script H simple, classic and nothing over the top! While at my parents I also picked up one of my dresses from the seamstress... Which I had to take back to her since she had made it a bit tight. It was not too big of a deal since the dress (which was my mother's wedding dress) is pretty simple. We actually had the straps cut off, making it strapless. We also had Sylvia (our ammmmaaazing seemtstress) gather it a bit at the bust making it more of a sweetheart kind of neckline. Besides making it a little too tight, it looked amazing! I'm so excited to wear it and I know my mom is too. I think this dress will be great for the reception! It is comftorable and a bit more "party like" than the dress I will be wearing for the ceremony (which is actually from target)!!! I know I know, many of you are thinking Target? For her wedding dress? Actually it is very lovely, fits me perfectly (right out of the box) and for a dress that I will be wearing for a couple of hours then boxing up it is perfect! Here it is...
I must say it fits me better than the model. It is not at all bagggy as it looks here and the back comes to a deep V. I think the back will look lovely during the ceremony and great for pictures! I also picked out the two pairs of shoes I will be wearing! I originally had an amazing pair of Manolos that I purchased on sale, but they ended up being a little too high for the lace dress and way too high for my mother's. I decided on a pair of ivory satin open-toe heels with satin roses (on the toe) for the ceremony and very simple gold and rinestone flip flops for the reception. I figure no one will really see those shoes and flip flops will allow me to be comftorable and able to dance. Overall, we were able to accomplish a ton this weekend. Now I'm off to run errands and finish cleaning our house!

Here is out VERY first wedding gift! I screamed when I saw that it had been "fulfilled" on our registry. I have always wanted a Kitchen Aid and now I have a pink one, that matches my pink & green kitchen!

To discuss something other then wedding gifts...:) Today, I ran to target and picked up some pretty green tissue paper for the bridesmaids gift bags and some baby blue toile wrapping paper for one of their gifts that I want to wrap (to add a little bit of color)! I also did a few loads of laundry since my fiance and I are heading to Chicago this weekend for more wedding planning (our wedding is being held in the suburbs of Chicago though we live in Ohio, because that is where I'm originally from). We will be meeting with our photographer and D.J. Saturday morning and will also have our cake tasting that afternoon! Another reason we are heading out of town for the weekend is for my future sister-in-law's baby shower! I'm so excited to attend since I have never been to one before! I have had her gift ready to go since we found out she and her husband are expecting a boy! I purchased for her an adorable baby blue polka-dot cloth basket and inside it I aranged:
Two pairs of little white baby socks, a Burt's Bees gift basket (their products or wonderful), some blue and green washcloths, a dinosaur puppet washcloth, matching dinosaur booties and a rubber ducky that tells you if the water is too hot! I hope she likes it because I think it is all adorable! Since this will be a very busy weekend and will most likely not be blogging. I will fill all of you in on it all very soon!

Oh how I love Tiffany & Co.

Hello again! I have to admit, I have not posted in a number of days because I became a bit discouraged. After taking a peek today, I have two followers! So thank you Preppy Pink Crocodile for reading my blog. It has been an exciting week thus far! My fiance and I received our third wedding gift! I was beyond excited when I received a package with the blue box inside! You all know what the means, Tiffany's... I'm in love with the white weave pattern they have there. We registered for a number of the pieces that I think will nicely compliment our Maritime Rose pattern (Spode) that was my Grandmother's and the Wedgwood White that we also registered for as well. We received, the sugar bowl, creamer and the rectangular platter! I'm so excited to use it all, but best of all my wonderful sister sent this to us. She is so sweet and I cannot tell her enough how much I love it! I also received an amazing Lilly skirt in the mail, that I won on Ebay a few days before.
I plan on wearing it to my bridal shower in June! I also received some lovely handkerchiefs that I bid on too. They have my first initial embroidered on them and they are so perfectly lovely and feminine. Well I think I'm going to go paint! My first post!

So, after stumbling upon some pretty amazing blogs I have finally caved in! After putting a lot of thought into it, I have decided to become a blogger myself. I'm not really sure what to do exactly, but I would like to give this a try! Let me begin by saying I'm a twenty something who loves all things pink and pretty! I'm currently planning my June wedding and admittedly, a shopaholic! I avidly check ebay (several times a day) for wonderful finds! I also like to think of myself as quit a bargain shopper too. Sadly, I was recently laid off from a job that I rather enjoyed. Since then, I have been able to catch up on some other things that I have really come to enjoy such as cooking, decorating my house and as annoying and sad as this sounds...cleaning. Well, I'll keep this first entry short, because like I said I'm very new to all of this! Thank for reading!
